We are tickled to have Stacey Lynn Johnson and her family in our ward. Thank you to Stacey for letting us get to know her better! She was born in 29 Palms, CA and did a lot of moving around when she was growing up. She has 3 brothers and 2 sisters with Stacey being the oldest. She and her husband, Butch, met in their high school’s health class and also shared similar friends. They have 4 children, Charlotte age 13, Butch age 12, Jake age 7 and Bailey age 6. Some of the places Stacey has lived include 29 Palms, CA, Orange, CA Oceanside, CA and in Arizona Glendale, Yuma, Phoenix, Buckeye, Tonopah, Avondale, Flagstaff, Litchfield Park, Happy Jack and Eagar. WOW. Stacey says her favorite place to live is everywhere because she was with her family. Her favorite colors are white & green. She enjoys hiking, driving in the forest looking for animals with her family, crochet (although she hasn’t done it for a while), reading and doing anything with her family. Stacey relates one of her most
embarrassing moments: “We moved when I was a Sunbeam and I went to my new ward and very excitedly sang Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam. The first time we sang the word sunbeam, I enthusiastically jumped up out of my seat yelling the word (like we did at my previous ward) while the rest of the primary sang sedately. I don’t really remember what happened after that, but I do remember that it was quickly dropped from my favorite song list.” When asked to share something no one else would know, Stacey reveals: “I have absurdly short toes attached to expansively broad feet.” Good to know! Stacey dreams of traveling the world someday. She has lived in Round Valley a little over two years when Butch was hired to teach computer networking at the high school. Some of her church callings have been: Primary Teacher in CTR 8, Valiant 11 & 12, Counselor. Also in Relief Society: Enrichment Specialist, Chorister, Counselor & Visiting Teacher which has been her favorite because it is easier to help people and she relates she has had some amazing partners. Her favorite Latter-day Prophet is a tie between Spencer W. Kimball and Gordon B. Hinckley. President Kimball because he was always straight forward and President Hinckley because he was straight forward and funny.
Be sure to welcome the Johnsons when you see them!
