Come join us on Thursday, August 6th at the home of Linda Nelson– 62 South Butler – at 6:00 pm. Bring your enthusiasm and love for quilting. This activity will be ongoing and will meet regularly. The first meeting will be to discuss ideas and make a plan for future projects as well as decide on meeting places and times.

A big thanks to Linda for leading "The Quilter's Patch" group and sharing her talents!

Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you there.

"In the Kitchen With".... Shelley

We are excited to announce our upcoming enrichment activity where we will be learning all sorts of cooking tips and techniques in the kitchen. This will be an ongoing activity and we will be announcing the classes as they become available. Our goal is to have at least 2 classes a month. Look for upcoming announcements for this class, "In the Kitchen With... "

For our first activity, Shelley will be teaching us how to make bread from scratch with just our hands. That's right, NO machines. If you have whole wheat, bring it with you and she will show us how to grind the wheat and make your bread from start to finish.

A big thanks to Shelley Crosby for her willingness to share her expertise!

Shelley's class will be on Tuesday, August 11th at 6pm in her home.

Here is her recipe:

100% Whole Wheat Bread

5 cups warm water
2/3 cup oil
2/3 cup honey
2 Tbsp. salt
2 Tbsp. tofu drink mix (opt)
2 Tbsp. SAF instant yeast
2 Tbsp. Vital Wheat Gluten
2 Tbsp. Dough Enhancer
10-12 cups freshly ground wheat
2 Tbsp. ground flax seed (opt)
In your BOSCH mixing bowl, put water, 5 cups of wheat flour, oil, honey, yeast, gluten, dough enhancer, and tofu.. Mix on speed 1 until combined. Then add approximately 5 more cups of flour and the salt. Mix, and continue to add flour 1/4 cup at a time until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Then knead for another 4/5 min., The dough should feel soft, not grainy. Form it into loaves and place in pans. Let rise until double in size.
Bake at 350 for 30 min.
